You can get some snap caps if you have reservations with dropping a hammer on an empty chamber. You can use them to create malfunctions in live fire also. Don’t think you’ll have any problems with or without them.

As for the P30SK, I have slowly come around to the preference of the P2000SK. They use the same mags and a bunch of the same parts but not sights. I think it is because while the interchangeable side panels sound great, the grip of the P2SK feels better. Took it out this afternoon and put 200 plus rounds thru it. Here is my brief review of the gun. Ergonomics: to be a sub compact gun it has the best ergo's of any gun on the market, in my opinion. It is typical HK p30 series genius. I have small hands and i used the medium back strap. It works great for me.

This pistol has a couple of hundred trouble-free rounds through it, but this morning, when I would slingshot the slide after inserting a new magazine, it was failing to feed. It would feed fine if I returned the slide to it's closed... I have both the P30SK and the VP9SK. They are very similar in size, and complementary. The LEM trigger makes the P30SK shoot much like a striker fired pistol. I generally prefer hammer fired pistols so the P30SK definitely stays. Use the VP9SK where snags may be a problem from the hammer spur of the P30SK. I would not change a thing.

A cartridge remained in the chamber with the hammer cocked. I was going to unload the bullet from the chamber by first pressing the decocker and then racking the slide to eject the shell from the chamber.
